Veterinary Hospital, Downpatrick

Project type:
Replacement Dwelling
approx. 2400 sqft
This urban regeneration project comprises of the demolition of the existing vacant and former SERC training facility and the construction of a new purpose built Veterinary Hospital with significant associated site works on Church Street, Downpatrick.

The main two storey block of the building addressing the streetscape is a simple and traditional form with a scale and material palette respecting the surrounding built context. The combination with contemporary detailing, elements and materials creates a modern aesthetic to this state of the art facility.

The project has secured partial funding through the Urban Development Grant scheme as administered by the Department of Social Development. The project is due to commence on site in June 2014 with a completion date of March 2015.
