38 & 40 Scotch Street, Armagh

Project type:
Conservation / Commercial
Detail Design
This project comprises the restoration and change of use of two Listed Buildings (Grade B1) prominently located within the Conservation Area of the historical Armagh City centre.

The project aims to bring the two vacant and derelict Listed Buildings back into use by converting the first and second floors of both buildings to small scale commercial office units of lease.

This significant restoration project involves extensive repairs and replacement of major structural elements, repair and/or replacement of traditional timber sliding sash windows, replacement of cast iron rain water goods to alleviate penetrating damp, cleaning and re-pointing of the Ashlar limestone walls, repair of defective lead work and treatment and eradication of wet and dry rot.

We have applied to NIEA for grant aid towards the restoration of these architecturally and historically significant buildings through the Listed Building Grants scheme.
